Before enrolling, visit the school with your child to see his / her classroom and meet the teacher. Make arrangements to visit at least three nurseries before making any decisions.

Explain to your child that it is common for all kids to be nervous on the first day of school.

Ask your child about his / her excitement or any concerns about starting the school.

Reassure your child that if any problems arise at school, there will be a team to look after, and if needed you are just a call away.

Make your child aware about what their schedule will be like. Inform your child about starting and the end of the school timings each day.

Do research on after-school activities in the surrounding area that your child can join after the school.

It will be fun for your child to make new friends. Explain the positive aspects of starting school to your child.

Before the commencement of the school, try to do research on the other children who will be your child’s classmates so she / he will already have a company on the first day of school.
